What a busy weekend!
Friday night started off quietly with us having a night in. I managed to get a bit of work done on my website while Dan played with his
Klog then we settled down to watch some CSI.
Saturday was George's birthday night out and we headed off to
Jongleurs for some comedy. The comedians were a little disappointing but it was still a good night. After the club, we headed back to George & Richard's for more drinking and chatting before walking back home at 2.00am.
We were a bit peckish when we got back home (despite having eaten a variety of fried brown food at Jongleurs) so at 2.30am I started cooking some soup - Tesco's (tinned) Broccoli and Stilton to be precise which was absolutely rank!
We finally headed off to bed sometime before 3.00am.
We'd planned to walk to Henley with Debbie, Jason, Ron and Becca on Sunday for some exercise and to get the fitness levels up for the long walk so an early start was needed however the 9.00am alarm call was not very welcoming. Just time for a quick shower and a bacon sarnie before we headed off. Jason didn't answer his phone when I called at 9.15am so we headed off without them.
We made it to Henley at 2.00pm in a total of 3 hours. I was very tired and was looking forward to my pub lunch (the main incentive for my walking!) Debbie and Jason met us there and we finally found food in the
Catherine Wheel, a good old Wetherspoons.
With aching muscles, sore feet and the looming darkness, me and Dan hitched a lift back to Reading with Debbie and Jason while Ron and Becca headed for the train station for their return to Oxford.
Sunday evening was spent lying in front of the telly after a long hot bath with an early night on top!
And I vowed never to join them in a walk again! ;o)
