another trip to the pub...

After Monday's naughty trip to the pub, we found ourselves back in the pub on Tuesday night.
This time it was to celebrate my pay rise!

What better to do after finding out about a payrise than to go and spend money down the pub! ;o)

monday night drinks...

After the big night on Friday, the rest of the weekend was spent doing nothing. We couldn't even be bothered to go to Tescos for our much needed shopping on Saturday that we had a take-away instead! A very yummy curry from Chilli & Spice (mixed starter followed by Lamb Dupiaza with pilau rice and garlic nan)

So last night we had a naughty trip to the pub! Richard and George were already there anyway so it would have seemed rude not to! ;o) We met them in the Brewery Tap for a couple of drinks and some games of pool. A nice way to start the week.

Though we were tucked up in bed by 10.30pm! :oP

house warming party...

Lats night we we're invited to Mondana's house for a little get together and as a house warming party for her new house which we now like to call a "pad".

We arrived slightly later that the 7.30pm start time as indicated on the invitation due to a combination of waiting for Dan to arrive home for work and having a bite to eat. We needn't have bothered with the later. Mondana surpassed herself as a hostess (and made me very envious!) with free flowing drinks all evening and a "spread" that would put anyone to shame.

The food was delicious and we savoured lovely treats such as stuffed vine leaves, chilli, stir-fried veg, a mammouth cheeseboard and a very delicious cakes home-made chocolate fudge cake!

Our intentions was to get the last train home at 12.35pm but we finally made it home in a taxi at 2.45am!

more birthday celebrations...

There was more celebrations last night, nothing to do with St Patricks Day (afterall, i'm English!), just more celebrations in aid of Debbie's Birthday!

Tonight we were invited to Debbie and Jason's new house along with Richard and George for some drinks and pizza before heading off into town. Except we never did make it into town.

The birthday girl had one too many sniffs of wine and ended up in bed by 10pm. Me and Dan however kept Jason company and didn't leave till gone 2am!

birthday food and drinks...

I met up with Debbie at 6.00pm in Old Orleans last night for a quick drink for her birthday and ended up getting home at 11.00pm!

Jason arrived at 6.30pm and Dan at 7.00pm and a few drinks later, our thoughts turned to food and we headed off to Furama for the "all you can eat" buffet.

I was very impressed! The "buffet" actually consisted of giving you the menu and letting you choose anything you want and as much as you want. You could even order 20 crispy ducks if you wanted to, which we did, but didn't.

Instead we opted for a mixed starter, followed by crispy duck and then main courses of deep fried cripy chilli beef, beef in black pepper and satay sauce, duck with ginger and spring onions and singapore rice noodles. All very yummy and of course made us full to burst.

And I now know why you shouldn't go to bed on a full stomach having had a very bad night's sleep which involved waking up every hour or so :o(

Good night though! And we're doing it all again tomorrow night on the "offical" birthday night out.

busy weekend...

What a busy weekend!

Friday night started off quietly with us having a night in. I managed to get a bit of work done on my website while Dan played with his Klog then we settled down to watch some CSI.

Saturday was George's birthday night out and we headed off to Jongleurs for some comedy. The comedians were a little disappointing but it was still a good night. After the club, we headed back to George & Richard's for more drinking and chatting before walking back home at 2.00am.

We were a bit peckish when we got back home (despite having eaten a variety of fried brown food at Jongleurs) so at 2.30am I started cooking some soup - Tesco's (tinned) Broccoli and Stilton to be precise which was absolutely rank!

We finally headed off to bed sometime before 3.00am.

We'd planned to walk to Henley with Debbie, Jason, Ron and Becca on Sunday for some exercise and to get the fitness levels up for the long walk so an early start was needed however the 9.00am alarm call was not very welcoming. Just time for a quick shower and a bacon sarnie before we headed off. Jason didn't answer his phone when I called at 9.15am so we headed off without them.

We made it to Henley at 2.00pm in a total of 3 hours. I was very tired and was looking forward to my pub lunch (the main incentive for my walking!) Debbie and Jason met us there and we finally found food in the Catherine Wheel, a good old Wetherspoons.

With aching muscles, sore feet and the looming darkness, me and Dan hitched a lift back to Reading with Debbie and Jason while Ron and Becca headed for the train station for their return to Oxford.

Sunday evening was spent lying in front of the telly after a long hot bath with an early night on top!

And I vowed never to join them in a walk again! ;o)
