elton john...

Went to see Elton John in Oxford last night, my birthday present from Dan.

It was absoloutely FAB! Loved every minute of it.

Towards the end of the night the security men started to move chairs from the front rows and people started to rush forward in front of the stage. Dan was a little hesitant at first in case we all got sent back but we chanced it anyway and spent the last 40 minutes or so of the concert dancing about in front of the stage.

There was a freaky girl though who started to shout at Elton when he was signing autographs before his encore. At first I didn't know what she was talking about when she kept shouting "say hi to David for us" until the penny dropped and I realised she meant David Furnish! She carried on with "thank you for coming to Oxford" and other wired and random things. As if Elton went home and said to David "oh, someone was asking after you tonight". Wierdo!

Anyway, the concert was fantastic and it was a great birthday present. Dan even enjoyed it too!

tourists in london...

We had a weekend in London this weekend visiting Dan's Dad and step-mam's new pad in Blackheath.

We caught the train to London on Friday evening and had dinner in a Spanish Tapas Bar in Blackheath.

On Saturday we spent the morning wandering through London and popping into Greenwich Market before saying goodbye.

I'd arranged to catch-up with Judith while in London so we had a few hours to kill and spent the day being tourists in London. We walked for miles and saw lots of sights.

We met Judith & Richard and headed off to a backstreet pub in London which was extremely cheap. I don't think we'd ever be able to find our way there again though :oP
